Pros: Free

          Pretty impressive detection rates

          Nice user interface

          Decent zero day malware detection

          User friendly

Cons: A lot of processes and a little bit heavy but did not impact much on performance

           

Comodo Internet Security 6.0 with Kingsoft Free Antivirus combo test

Hello, this is Mike from compLextechzone and this is a test of the Comodo Internet Security 6.0 with Kingsoft Free Antivirus 2012 combo. The settings are left on default except that I enabled the HIPS feature in comodo. I have to say this is a really effective combination and I do recommend it. No impact on system performance at all.

          Pretty strong protection from unknown threats

          User friendly

Cons: Novice users might not understand the HIPS alert but it is disabled by default so that should be fine

           

           

avast! Free Antivirus 7 test

Hello everybody, this is Mike from compLextechzone and this is a test on the avast! Free Antivirus 7. The settings were changed which is only enabling the detection of potentially unwanted programs, other than that, everything was left on default.

Pros: Free
         Light
         Excellent detection rates
         Nice interface
       
Cons: Behaviour shield needs improvement
           Too many ads on the interface
           Have to register to activate one year license and register again when the one year usage period is up
